The US Treasury says that an office block in New York is owned by a US company that is owned by a Jersey company that is owned by Bank Melli against which the US has published sancitions declaring the bank to be a nuclear proliferator. It's frozen ownership, which is thought to be a pre-cursor to seeking confiscation.

Yesterday, India satisfied the UN Security Council that Pakistan based charity Jamaat-ud-Dawa was involved in the provision of financing to terrorists. Today, Pakistan has reacted by closing the organisation.

Washington, DC 25 November 2008--The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) today designated four Mugabe regime cronies and a number of entities owned or controlled by two of them. The financial and logistical support they have provided to the regime has enabled Robert Mugabe to pursue policies that seriously undermine democratic processes and institutions in Zimbabwe.
